You’ve successfully landed, congratulations and welcome! My name is Tigran Khanzadyan and this is my internet corner.
Current Position
From November 2006 I’m a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Centre for Astronomy at the National University of Ireland in Galway (NUIG).
My current topic of research is in the field of Massive Star Formation - especially I’m interested in the infall characteristics of the Massive Pre-Protostellar Cores. We (together with Dr. Matt Redman) use and develop a 3D Radiative Transfer Code to model spectral features of infall observed in different molecular lines like CO, HCN, HCO+ and others.
Positions
From November 2005 till October 2005 I was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Centro de Astrofisica da Universidade do Porto (CAUP), Porto, Portugal – Research in the department of Stellar Astrophysics under self-proposed research plan dedicated to the studies of Outflows from Bok Globules.
From December 2002 till November 2005 I was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Astronomie (MPIA), Heidelberg, Germany – Research in the department of Protostars and Planet Formation concentrating on the studies of Bok Globules using multi-band observational data for SED compilation and modelling.
Education
From December 1999 till December 2002 I was a PhD student at the Armagh Observatory, and the Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. My PhD Thesis Title is: ‘The Near-Infrared Tracks of Protostellar Outflows’ ; Supervisor: Prof. Michael D.Smith - You can download my My PhD Thesis from here
From July 1997 till November 1999 I did Post Graduate Study at the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory (BAO), Armenia. Subjects: Radiative Transfer Theory (Prof. A.G. Nikogosian) and Star Formation (Dr. T. Movsessian and Dr. T.Yu. Magakian)
From September 1992 till Jun 1997 I studied at the Department of Astrophysics in Faculty of Physics, Yerevan State University, Armenia, where in the final year I wrote a thesis entitled ‘The Study of Host Galaxies of AGNs’ (in Armenian); Supervisor: Dr. A. Petrosian (Byurakan Observatory) and was granted a State Diploma in Physics.
